THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced transactional attorney with a passion for and knowledge of technology products and services, digital assets and related emerging technology, to join our corporate legal team.

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO
• Provide legal advice and support on development of new digital product planning, partnerships, and fan engagement across a range of digital platforms and business models, focusing on advanced technologies including SaaS computing, distributed databases, multi-party data sharing systems, NFTs, blockchain technologies, and other emerging technologies.
• Draft, review, analyze and interpret complex vendor contracts related to the procurement and use of technology products and services, including software, hardware, cloud, SaaS, managed services.
• Work with technology, product and business teams to facilitate speed to contract, while ensuring that relevant risks are readily identified, escalated where necessary, and appropriately addressed and mitigated in accordance with company protocols.
• Work closely with members of our compliance teams on issues such as data privacy/ information security, intellectual property, and financial regulatory matters.
• Stay up to date on new legal developments and the evolving regulatory landscape around financial regulations and digital assets applicable to the company's business, to help ensure that company policies and procedures maintain compliance.
• Develop and lead training for business, product and technology stakeholders as well as the broader legal team.

WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING
• J.D. from accredited law school and California bar membership in good standing, or willingness and qualification to be Registered In-House Counsel.
• Minimum of 5 years of in-house legal experience working on matters related to advanced technologies, intellectual property rights, NFTs, blockchain technologies, and negotiating complex transactional agreements, including software as a service, software licensing, professional services, and/or other technology products and services.
• General understanding of data privacy and information security requirements.
• Proficiency in drafting complex transactional agreements, together with the ability to distill complicated legal concepts into their core components and ideas.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to interact and communicate with all levels of the organization and outside counsel.
• Practical approach to legal drafting and problem solving and ability to translate legal issues into clear guidance for non-lawyers.
• Sound business judgment and ability to assess legal risk while also thinking strategically and providing practical advice.
• Ability to learn quickly, take initiative and multi-task in a highly demanding, deadline-driven environment.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and with a team.
