Job Description
THE TEAMThe Commercial Strategy team's primary focus is to inform senior leaders on deals with Ticketmaster's largest clients (primarily major North American sports leagues and teams and global venue owner/operators) in an effort to achieve the most optimal outcomes. We also work on financial, economic and strategic analysis for many of the largest company-wide strategic initiatives. The work the team does starts with working across the business to gather, analyze and summarize company data. We then develop actionable recommendations for these key decisions that are presented to senior TM leadership for their consideration.
THE JOB
The Business Analyst, Commercial Strategy is responsible for supporting the work of the Commercial Strategy team, driven by the VP of Commercial Strategy and senior Ticketmaster executives. The individual must be highly analytical, can view the business from a number of different levels, can interact effectively with all levels of management including C-level executives within the organization, and work with stakeholders to identify and implement new opportunities to improve and grow the business. The individual will distill data and key metrics into insights that will help shape the future of the company.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
• Analyze potential client business (professional & college teams, major sports leagues & concert/multi-purpose venues, etc.) through the assembly and review of historical and projected volume, profit & loss statements and other key performance indicators
• Manage the incentive compensation plan for the TM sales force, ensuring the team is properly incentivized to grow the business profitably
• Improve & streamline TM's internal financial reporting to help colleagues across the organization more efficiently receive and understand business drivers
• Assist other organizations within TM on economic impact analysis for product/strategic initiatives that would affect how TM helps clients sell tickets; and
• Work cross-functionally with other business areas to assess competitors and trends in market share, etc.
WHAT YOU NEED
• Strongly preferred: Bachelor's Degree in finance, business, economics, engineering or similar quantitative field
• Minimum of 2-3 years in a similar analyst-level role; highly quantitative and data-driven in nature
• Strong business and financial acumen. Ability to understand the economic drivers behind a variety of business models and to synthesize complex datasets into actionable insights
• A decisive project leader, with the ability to push a project forward, draw key insights from analysis, and determine recommendations and next steps
• Demonstrated success in verbal and written communication with senior leadership to influence impactful change in the organization
• Highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with business intelligence and/or data visualization software (Tableau, Domo, etc.) is preferred
• Desire to help create a fun and productive culture, leveraging Ticketmaster's focus on sports and music
