Manager, Sales & Marketing – Physical Distribution
Reporting to the Vice President, Account Management, North America. We are looking for an intelligent, organized, and self-motivated music marketing and sales professional to manage our North American physical retail efforts. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of what drives successful new release and catalog physical marketing campaigns via previous label and/or distribution experience. They are creative and able to create and implement marketing initiatives for both developing artists and established acts with a focus on increasing revenue. Internally, the candidate will be a conduit for idea and information exchange between physical retail and our client, marketing, and advertising teams.
Responsibilities
• Act as a liaison with labels and artist management to develop and implement national retail marketing plans for physical releases.
Organize contests, in-store performances, autograph signings, and other promotions.
• Solicit physical retail accounts on new release & catalog products.
• Update and maintain the co-op database for account base. Enter advertising authorizations and monitor program compliance.
• Prepare weekly marketing updates & read back marketplace for clients & accounts.
• Advise clients on new release targets, sales projections, pricing, inventory levels, and industry best practices.
• Procure promotional goods and materials and coordinate mailings.
Qualifications
• 5+ years label and/or distribution experience in physical retail sales and marketing.
• High level knowledge of physical retail outlets, rapidly changing market conditions, product development timelines, and marketing opportunities.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, attention to detail, and a commitment to follow-through.
• Position is relationship focused, requiring excellent internal and external communication skills and professional diplomacy.
• Needs to be a self-starter with the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing business environment and evolving workload. Must be flexible.
• Strong passion for and a deep knowledge of music.
• Bachelors degree or higher.
