Working closely with directors to create and oversee the visual identity and art style of a given project (cinematic game trailer, commercial, or short film), the Art Director will create concept paintings and key frames to define the look of sequences as well as execute shot work via projecting paintings in Nuke.
-Create concepts for environments, characters/costumes, vehicles, and props
-Provide day-to-day training, support, and feedback for other painters on the project
-Work closely with the CG team to provide miscellaneous support during asset build
-Work closely with Production to set schedules for other painters throughout the project's duration
-Work within the CG pipeline to use existing assets as a starting point for paintings. Experience in Maya and/or Blender
-Execute shot work via digital matte painting and provide 2.5D background renders to comp via projections in Nuke

Qualifications
• Minimum 4 years of working experience in maya in a film production environment / animation TV series or visual effects
• An excellent understanding of VFX workflows and animation requirements including the principles of character motion
• Strong knowledge of Nuke
• Highly creative, with an eye for high quality visuals and technical perfection
• Excellent communication skills
• Exceptional problem-solving skills.
