Our global Visual Effects team combines talent with technology, artistry with rigor, the familiar with the fantastic. Our work can be inspiring or invisible, but always unforgettable. As a 2D Pipeline TD, you will be responsible for developing software tools and workflows used on our
advertising, episodic and features VFX projects. You will be providing face-to-face technical support
and assistance to artists and production management, as well as developing new tools and scripts -
predominantly in Python, to improve the efficiency of compositing artists and automate tasks.
You will be regularly required to:
• Provide technical support and advice for artists
• Build and maintain bespoke project pipeline tools.
• Collaborate with our R&D team
• Contribute to the development and constant improvement of the pipeline
• Ensure requests for new tools are in line with pipeline roadmap
2D Pipeline TDs are highly technical and demonstrate an aptitude for creative problem solving. You
will need to be an excellent communicator and able to work with other pipeline TDs and nontechnical
artists.
Qualifications
Must have
• Previous experience in VFX or related industry
• Excellent Python, and Linux skills
• Solid understanding of the VFX or animation pipeline
• Experience in developing tools for DCC packages such as Maya, Houdini or Nuke
Nice to have
• Knowledge of Nuke Studio
• Familiarity with Nuke's Python API and writing Gizmos
• Knowledge of colour science workflows
• Awareness of encoding codecs
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative workflows (code review, standards, etc.)
• Knowledge of any/all of Mari/Maya/Houdini/Katana/Arnold/RV
• A degree in Computer Science, Computer Graphics or other related fields
