Job Description
KFMB is seeking a Broadcast Engineer to provide technical support to CBS8. This individual will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing TV/Digital production, transmission, and computer-based equipment.

Responsibilities:
• Self-starter, problem solver and able to work efficiently without direct supervision.
• Support day to day operations, including all daily news operations, equipment, and computer-based IT systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair computer hardware, software, and peripherals, including network servers, storage, network operating systems, PCs and software applications, LAN cabling, system security and virus protection.
• Create and maintain wiring, and system configuration documentation.
• Knowledge of IT and Broadcast systems operation, maintenance, and services as needed to assist in supporting these systems.
• Maintain, support and upgrade broadcast and IT environments including the news, sales, and traffic departments, and/or television broadcast studios.
• Knowledge in field operations including Trucks, Satellite, Microwave, and IP newsgathering technologies.
• Strong multitasking skills.
• Maintaining and/or repairing satellite receivers, cameras, switchers, graphic systems, audio equipment, routers, automation/editing systems, intercoms, monitors and display systems
• Provide technical support to all operational users.
• Consult and communicate with engineering management and other engineers on technical issues as required.
• Maintain knowledge staying current on technological advances in software, hardware, networking, media storage, television broadcasting and studio production.
• Provide light building maintenance and perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and maintain television broadcast equipment.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills (ability to clearly communicate the status of problems, provide updates to progress on projects, and offer solutions to technical issues).
• Minimum 2 years related TV broadcasting and/or network IT experience.
• Ability to install and maintain computer systems and network equipment.
• Self-starter, able to work efficiently without direct supervision.
• Available to work various hours and days including weekends, overnights, and holidays, as needed.
• Ability to install and maintain computer systems and network equipment.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, work on elevated surfaces, pull and install wiring, use hand, and power tools, work on small components and perform other physical tasks.

Work Environment: Office

Physical Demands: Medium work

Travel: Rarely: less than 10%

Work Environment Set: Office: normally performed in a typical interior/office environment

Physical Demands Set: Medium work: Involves standing prolong hours, stooping, bending, lifting/pushing up to 25 lbs.

Budgeted Compensation Range: $70K - $82K
