Responsibilities
The NBCUniversal Telemundo television station located in Miramar, FL is currently looking for an Information Technology Systems Engineer. The Information Technology Systems Engineer is responsible for overseeing the mission critical IT systems within the television station, reporting directly to the Technology Manager.
This position will be part of a diverse technical team responsible for the short and long-term technology strategy and health of the station. This includes designing and maintaining the infrastructure, addressing security needs, providing desktop support, and other technology related duties. This position interacts directly with the end users, including newsroom operations, sales and others all with varying priorities and needs.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Diagnose and resolve issues with user workstation and peripheral.
• Have a understanding of current server and storage technologies.
• Have a fundamental understanding of networking technologies.
• Provide excellent and timely customer service and support.
• Evaluate and perform root-cause analysis on escalated issues.
• Ability to maintain standards and compliance, manage change controls and solve complex problems.

Effectively manage projects to ensure initiatives are delivered on time and on budget.

Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or 3+ years in IT or IT related experience.
• Emergency On-site 365/24/7 Support
• In-depth experience (2+ years) with MS Windows and MS Server OS, Active Directory, Dell desktop equipment, Multi-Media Platforms, Internet/Intranets, Mac hardware/OS
• Ability to work flexible hours (evenings/weekends) as assigned.
• Must be willing to work in Miramar, FL
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU's Alternative Dispute Resolution Program

Desired Characteristics
• Proven understanding of asset management and digital distribution concepts, servers and streaming platforms.
• Solid knowledge of file-based delivery, compression, transcoding and streaming technologies.
• Knowledge of Apple products.
• Familiar with broadcast based IT systems such as Dalet, Ross, Omneon & WSI.
• ITIL
• Cisco CCNA
• Microsoft
