Job Description

KTDO is currently seeking a name commercial producer/host who will work closely with creative services department, sales, digital, entertainment and community content for broadcast and all digital platforms including OTT. This individual will be responsible for writing, editing, building graphics and video recording material. Candidate must be able to cover local entertainment, stories, trends, , community events, personalities and cultural shifts that are native to the internet and social platforms - with expertise, voice, depth and original reporting.

Producer Responsibilities:
• Write, shoot, and edit high quality local television commercials, promos and campaigns.
• Includes pre-production and planning meeting with account sales executives and clients, script writing, professional voice over.
• Operating of all portable video (field cameras) and audio equipment.
• Transports and sets up all required lighting and audio equipment including lavaliers, wireless receivers, handheld and shotgun microphones.
• In post-production selects footage, tape logging, rough cuts, audio adjustment, edits, add graphics, voice over, music and include sound effects to create the final product.
• Responsible for the quality of each commercial produced.
• Quality control can involve several duties, such as verifying accurate information and placing legal disclaimers into advertisement spots if required.
• Responsible for the quality of each commercial produced.
• Responsible for producing assigned Acceso Total segments, special projects and sales driven segments.
• Create ideas and develop content ideas for Acceso Total segments and local stories.
• Conceptualize, write, and edit stories in different formats (VO, VO/SOT & PKG)
• Coordinate script and storyline with correct video sources and graphics.
• Ensure accuracy and correct spelling in graphics and banners.
• Produce (write & edit) OTT content.
• Write scripts and edit videos under tight deadlines.
• Ability to post-produce the segments and digital content alone
• Write and edit tune in promos, headlines, and promotional teasers.
• Prepare music cue sheets on a weekly basis.
• Work with Creative Services to create and optimize the content for Acceso Total across all Telemundo 48 El Paso social media platforms.
• Ability to participate and support event activations.

Host Responsibilities:
• Produce a minimum of 3 stories per week.
• Ability to record and edit stories.
• Lighting techniques knowledge
• Interview station clients, high profile artists and community leaders.
• Maintain good business relationships with station clients and partners.
• Ability to adlib fluently.
• Ability to read prompter naturally.
• Ability to emcee public events.
• Excellent writing skills with journalistic integrity

Qualifications
• 5+ years as a producer preferred.
• Ability to multitask and work in a highly creative fast paced, dead-line driven environment.
• Proven solid writing skills and editorial judgment.
• Good interview skills
• Strong live reporting skills are necessary.
• Demonstrated self-starter.
• Proven excellent interpersonal skills.
• Strong sense of how to visually tell a compelling story.
• Color correction, editing, music selection and special effects knowledge.
• Excellent organizational skills
• Video editing proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premier, After Effects, and Photoshop)
• Willingness to maintain a flexible schedule, travel, and work overtime with short notice.
• Able to work a flexible schedules and shifts, including nights and weekends.
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must have a valid DL and clear driving record.
• English/Spanish required, both written and verbal
• Willing to work at the El Paso, TX station (not a remote position)
• Flexibility in schedule. Ability to work any shift to include holidays and weekends.

Desired Characteristics:
• Background in Journalism, Promotions, Videography,
• Strong writing skills and editing skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects, Audition)
• Ability to work with people and build relationships with other departments.
• Understanding of and experience on social media platforms
• Exposure to non-linear editing/shooting
• May have had film or web video projects.
• Experience with commercial production or copy writing.
• Spanish language skills preferred.
• Outgoing and authentic personality
• Highly developed contacts within TV and film industry preferred.
• Demonstrated experience as a far-reaching social media personality.
