Job Description

NBC10, Telemundo62 and NBC Sports Philadelphia are seeking an experienced Art Director to join our Brand, Strategic Marketing and Creative team. The Art Director will collaborate closely with marketing and creative leadership as well as news, technical operations, live event, studio content, digital, community, and sales stakeholders to manage and expand the stations' brand identity and continuity across linear and non-linear platforms. The Art Director develops and implements all aspects of the visual identity of our brands and is responsible for inspiring, motivating, and leading designers. Also, collaborates closely with creative leaders, producers, photographers and editors. The Art Director is an experienced, individual who must consistently set the highest standards on quality, communication, innovation, and creativity.

Responsibilities:
• Provide design and art direction for our graphic design on broadcast, cable, streaming, digital, social, print, LED, and OOH platforms.
• Develop and maintain brand guidelines for all three station brands.
• Keep the design standards of the creative/content teams at the highest possible level.
• Developing and maintaining a positive and engaging creative culture
• Ability to meet deadlines and to adapt to change in a daily, unpredictable news and live events production environment.
• Exhibits persuasive communication skills to lead the team and present concepts.
• Design news, shows and live event graphics packages (monitors, opens, lower thirds, transitions, bumps, boxes, billboards, and snipes.)
• Deploy NBC designed packages/toolkits.
• Design and deploy sponsored promos, activations, campaigns and on-air elements.
• Manage fulfillment of daily graphics requests including, but not limited to, creative content, sponsor elements, show opens, social media graphics, third party logos, and headshots.
• Work with producers and photographers on promotional campaign needs including design elements, script assistance, shot lists, mockups, greenscreen, shot framing, backplate and needs for camera tracking.
• Design visual assets for digital and streaming broadcasts and special events
• Design and execute visual elements for activations including signage and premiums.
• Work with news producers and NBC Arthouse on news look upgrades
• Drives conceptualization of assigned projects ensuring delivery of innovative design and animation.
• Art directs and produces photoshoots.
• Optimize design workflows, identify redundancies and inefficiencies, and develop various solutions including making sure software current.
• Ability to work nights and weekends and extra hours as needed.

Qualifications
• 8+ years of experience working in design, photography and/or illustration at a network or agency
• Bachelor's degree in graphic design or fine arts
• Complete understanding of the implementation of design elements in network television and live sports environments is a must
• Hands-on ability with strong technical skills (Adobe CS/After Effects)
• Knowledge of Cinema 4D
• Passion for show packaging and knowledge of current trends in graphic design
• Strong concept & storyboard design skills
• Unparalleled design, logo and typography skills
• Strong presentation and communication skills
• Portfolio that demonstrates an eye for storytelling, concept, motion design, composition, color and typography.
• Accustomed to delegating responsibilities to other team members, holding team members accountable for performance benchmarks to ensure on-time and delivery.
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus

Additional Responsibilities:
• Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
