Responsibilities

Telemundo Network is seeking a Senior 3D designer to join our dynamic award-winning team in our Miami, FL headquarters. You will work in our Design Department assisting with all aspects of broadcast production graphics for live news shows and special projects. Designing concepts from inception to delivery.

This position requires experience and an understanding of live-news graphics workflows and the News environment.

It is essential, that the designer be quick to respond to Breaking news, follow up protocol, and assist the team in workingwith the graphics producer. The successful candidate is a team player who thrives under the pressure of breaking news and enjoys multi-tasking. They should also be able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
• Create innovative design across our news consumer touchpoints, from broadcast to digital.
• Operating 3d DCC software (Cinema 4D, Maya, Blender, Houdini, etc.)
• Modelling, lighting, texturing, compositing of 3D assets for Augmented and Virtual reality.
• Manage handoff with Realtime Graphics Lead and oversee graphics to air.
• Take projects from idea to concept, from production to launch, ensuring excellence, alignment, and quality of design thinking throughout.
• Communicate concepts easily to all stakeholders across departments.
• You will be an experienced mentor of people, someone that can inspire others, elevating the creative standard as we grow.
• Develop and identify areas or design efficiency and production in a fast-paced news environment.
• Actively participate in brainstorm sessions and support creative teams as needed.
• Work effectively with Design Directors, Producers, and other team members.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:
• Minimum 5-7 years working in the broadcast graphics industry.
• Highly organized with good attention to detail and eye for final pixel.
• Advanced knowledge of 3D DCCs such as Cinema4D, Maya, Blender, Houdini, etc.
• Experience in Adobe Creative Suite (Ae, Ps, Ai, Mixamo)
• Experience with a tracking system like NCam, MOSYS, Stype.
• Experience with realtime broadcast graphics platforms like Vizrt, Chyron, Unreal Engine a plus.
• Basic understanding of live-action and CG based visual effects workflows.
• Basic understanding of common file formats and resolutions.
• Conversant with visual effects terminologies and processes.
• Knowledge of color science in relation to VFX.
• On-set and control room experience.
• Able to work in high pressure production environments.
• Demonstrate risk-taking and innovation and push skills by looking for creative opportunities in each task.
• Highly developed interpersonal skills and time management skills.
• Must work well multitasking to meet deadlines, manage multiple projects.
• Must submit a link to a current demo reel to be considered for the role.
• Experience with a tracking system like NCam, MOSYS, Stype.
• Experience in working with news producers.
• Must submit an attestation disclosing your COVID_19 vaccination status and, if partially or fully vaccinated, submit your vaccination record no later than 7 days following commencement of employment.
• Must be able to work a hybrid on-site schedule at Miami, FL

Desired Characteristics:
• Experience in creating looks for broadcast franchises is a plus.
• Basic understanding of realtime render optimization a plus.
• Experience with broadcast hardware and cameras a plus.Experience with realtime broadcast graphics platforms like Vizrt, Chyron, Unreal Engine a plus
