Credit Specialist

Job Description

TEGNA, one of the most geographically diverse broadcasters in the US, is seeking a Credit Specialist to join our Shared Services team. This position will be part of the TEGNA corporate team with company-wide responsibility but will be physically located at our NBC Affiliate in Indianapolis, WTHR. The Credit Specialist is responsible for maintaining high quality external and internal customer service.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Evaluate credit worthiness of new potential advertisers
• Monitor the credit risk of existing accounts
• Provide timely new account setup
• Review accounts on credit holds, release orders, and process credit card payments

Job Requirements:

Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED
• 2 years of credit and customer service experience
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and business math
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Ability to multi-task successfully and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, centralized environment
• Solid organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal skills including superior customer service and interpersonal skills
• Ability to create and contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and extended hours as needed

Preferred Qualifications:
• Two or four-year degree
• 3 or more years of experience
• Media finance experience (TV, Radio, or Digital)
• Wide Orbit Software experience
• Experience with Dun & Bradstreet scoring
• Experience processing customer credit card payments

Work Environment: Office/ Hybrid

Physical Demands: Light work

Travel: Rarely: less than 10%
