Broadcast Director

Job Description

FOX West Texas (KIDY in San Angelo and KXVA in Abilene) is looking for a full-time Broadcast Director/Editor. The person filling this role will be responsible for live punching our locally produced news shows using a Sony XVSG1 switcher.

The Director works closely with our producers to create compelling and clean newscasts. Broadcast directors are also responsible for editing content for the shows as well as topical content.

Responsibilities:
• Punch live newscasts and recorded shows
• Oversee the overall look of the assigned newscasts
• Identify and correct potential problems before they hit air
• Maintain studio operations (i.e., lights, sets, etc.)
• Other broadcast duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

Requirements:
• 1 to 3 years of experience as a broadcast director or technical director
• Knowledge of ENPS , BitCentral, Edius and Chyron graphics systems is a plus
• Must be able to work quickly and efficiently under pressure
• Ability to adapt and quickly pivot on the fly for breaking news or severe weather coverage
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• High school diploma and/or college degree in TV production
• Flexible Scheduling: this position includes nights and holidays
