Audience Data and Insights Director

Job Description

KHOU has an outstanding opportunity for a Audience Data and Insights Director to join our award-winning team.

Responsibilities:
• Embed with the KHOU11 content (news/marketing/digital) teams to provide real-time audience insights through data analytics, visualization, and storytelling.
• Take an active role in station editorial, marketing, and strategy meetings
• Utilize a variety of data tools to understand viewers / visitors of KHOU11 and competitors
• Maintain ongoing knowledge of what shifts are taking place both in station viewership as well as overall market opportunities
• Ensure that the newsroom and content team(s) are consistently armed with salient knowledge regarding 'who' they are developing content for
• Identify and share key areas of opportunity to grow audiences
• Work closely with KHOU11's Research Director [whose primary focus is on business / sales insights, Wide Orbit (audience estimates) and Nielsen management]

Job Requirements:

Requirements:
• Solid relationship-builder, adept at interfacing with all levels throughout an organization
• Inherently curious and detail oriented
• Ability to pull and analyze raw audience data, and ultimately extract actionable insights that can translate into simple tactics
• Must be able to 'tell a story' with data, and tailor the way information is presented depending on the audience (no data dumps!)
• Ability to work with a variety of research tools such as Grabix, Scarborough, Comscore and various Nielsen reports
• Ability to create presentations in tools such as PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams and SmartSheet
• Strong and engaging presentation skills
• Ability to work on long-term and short-term projects simultaneously.
• Positive attitude
• Mix of in-office and remote work, but in-office is required a certain number of days per week and flexibility required depending on projects
• Must be curious, pro-active and a self-starter – KHOU11 needs a colleague who is actively looking ahead for opportunities
