Job Overview - Project-Based Position
The Assistant Director (AD) plays a crucial dual role in supporting the Show Director (SD) by managing the timing and pacing of the live production while also operating and executing on-screen graphics in real time. This role ensures the show runs smoothly according to the planned schedule and that graphics are delivered accurately on cue, and with visual consistency. As a central link across the production team, the AD helps maintain the seamless flow of the show, coordinating across on-site teams and adapting quickly under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
- Track the run of show, ensuring the production remains on schedule and adjusting timing in real time as needed.
- Maintain constant communication with the Show Director to anticipate transitions and cue from on-site teammates.
- Monitor and manage internal cues, countdowns, and show segments to keep on-stage talent and crew aligned.
- Partner with the Stage Director/Manager (SM) and Production Assistant (PA) to coordinate backstage and onstage timing.
- Act as a central hub for show-related information, relaying cues to audio, video, lighting, and content teams.
- Troubleshoot timing or content challenges during the show with clarity and professionalism.
- Operate graphics platforms (PowerPoint or broadcast software) during the live show.
- Execute lower-thirds, timers, speaker titles, session slides, and video overlays with precision.
- Verify formatting and accuracy of all graphics prior to show time and make adjustments on the fly when needed.
- Follow cue calls from the Show Director to ensure graphics and content are delivered at the correct moment.

Qualifications
- Experience: 2–5 years in live event production, broadcast, or related environments. Stage management, graphics operation, or production coordination experience strongly preferred.
- Skills: Strong organizational ability, excellent communication, attention to detail, and technical proficiency with presentation and graphics software.
- Mindset: Calm under pressure, collaborative, and solution-oriented with a commitment to excellence.
