Job Overview - Project-Based Position

The Assistant Director (AD) plays a crucial dual role in supporting the Show Director (SD) by managing the timing and pacing of the live production while also operating and executing on-screen graphics in real time. This role ensures the show runs smoothly according to the planned schedule and that graphics are delivered accurately on cue, and with visual consistency. As a central link across the production team, the AD helps maintain the seamless flow of the show, coordinating across on-site teams and adapting quickly under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Track the run of show, ensuring the production remains on schedule and adjusting timing in real time as needed.
  • Maintain constant communication with the Show Director to anticipate transitions and cue from on-site teammates.
  • Monitor and manage internal cues, countdowns, and show segments to keep on-stage talent and crew aligned.
  • Partner with the Stage Director/Manager (SM) and Production Assistant (PA) to coordinate backstage and onstage timing.
  • Act as a central hub for show-related information, relaying cues to audio, video, lighting, and content teams.
  • Troubleshoot timing or content challenges during the show with clarity and professionalism.
  • Operate graphics platforms (PowerPoint or broadcast software) during the live show.
  • Execute lower-thirds, timers, speaker titles, session slides, and video overlays with precision.
  • Verify formatting and accuracy of all graphics prior to show time and make adjustments on the fly when needed.
  • Follow cue calls from the Show Director to ensure graphics and content are delivered at the correct moment.

Leadership & Culture Expectations

  • Model TEAMTRI’s values: Love, Listen, Learn, Character, Create, Commit.
  • Represent TEAMTRI with professionalism, ensuring clients, crews, and participants experience excellence.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with other TEAMTRI agencies to support a unified and successful production.
  • Stay calm under pressure, approaching challenges with clarity and a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Build trust with teammates by communicating clearly, anticipating needs, and following through on responsibilities.
  • Act as an ambassador of TEAMTRI’s culture of positivity, care, and high standards.

What Success Looks Like

  • The production runs on schedule with smooth pacing and transitions.
  • Graphics are displayed accurately, consistently, and on cue, enhancing the professionalism of the show.
  • The Show Director and production team feel supported through clear communication and coordination.
  • On-stage talent and backstage crews stay aligned and confident throughout the event.
  • Clients and participants experience a polished and seamless live production.
  • Challenges are met with calm solutions that maintain the integrity of the show.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 2–5 years in live event production, broadcast, or related environments. Stage management, graphics operation, or production coordination experience strongly preferred.
  • Skills: Strong organizational ability, excellent communication, attention to detail, and technical proficiency with presentation and graphics software.
  • Mindset: Calm under pressure, collaborative, and solution-oriented with a commitment to excellence.
