POSITION OVERVIEW
The Manager, Marketing is charged with crafting and executing marketing strategies and plans for Sundance Institute and its programs efficiently and successfully.
Working closely under the Interim Director, Marketing, the Manager will serve as a key marketing contact for Sundance Institute artist and alumni programming, public programming, and other departments. This position will guide the execution of marketing campaigns, ensuring adherence to established strategies and measuring and communicating performance. The Manager will work with the Associate Director in the execution of a comprehensive Marketing campaign for the Sundance Film Festival.
This full-time position will be based out of the greater Boulder, CO or Salt Lake City, UT areas in order to collaborate onsite in a hybrid capacity throughout the year, with opportunities for day-to-day work to be performed remotely. Extended hours, including evenings and weekends will be required at key points throughout the year. Occasional travel to other hubs and events may also be required.
Top priorities include but are not limited to�
• Utilizing a digital marketing approach to lead and execute marketing strategy across campaigns in support of artist programs, Advancement initiatives including fundraising and Membership, the Community Program and the Sundance Film Festival.
• Setting key performance indicators (KPIs), measuring data and analytics to assess campaign performance and timely reporting out to the team and all key stakeholders.
• Acting as a creative and strategic partner for the creative team (including designers, writers, editors), brainstorming and participating in concepting and ideation.
• Monitoring activities of the seasonal Marketing team, managing smaller marketing initiatives, ensuring timely and effective work on budget.
• Managing timeline, content development and approval process for monthly marketing emails and email marketing campaigns.
• Collecting and utilizing metrics to inform marketing decisions and optimize performance.
• Leading project management practice by expertly managing timelines on Airtable, driving adoption across the department, and working across functions, multiple teams, and stakeholders.
• Reviewing marketing materials across the Institute to ensure the content aligns with brand voice, style, target audience, and business goals.
• Managing assigned budgets, including annual billing, monthly tracking, and processing invoices as outlined by the Finance Department.
• Facilitating ongoing relationship building with marketing vendors and partners while ensuring healthy working relationships.
• Leading the Annual Report project collaborating with leaders, internal colleagues, and external partners including hiring and managing the freelance creative team and managing the timeline, budget, and approval process.
• Managing seasonal employees, including providing direction, feedback, and support to ensure employees understand responsibilities and are effective in their roles.
You have the following direct or transferable skill sets:
• 3 years of experience in developing and implementing digital content marketing plans.
• Experience building marketing initiatives with fundraising components.
• Experience using data to make strategic recommendations.
• Leadership skills with a background that includes managing and mentoring employees.
• Strong project management skills to work efficiently across functions and all levels.
• Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to work effectively with a wide variety of people.
• Strong knowledge of Google Docs and other related project management communication tools preferred.
• Proven experience managing budgets preferred.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
