Seasonal Festival Technical Lead, Digital Screenings

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Festival Technical Lead, Digital Screenings is charged with providing remote support to ensure digital livestream screenings for the 2022 Sundance Film Festival are uninterrupted.

Working closely under the direction of the Online Screening Lead, the Festival Technical Lead will be responsible for quickly responding to technical or streaming issues when they arise to facilitate quick resolutions.

This temporary position works remotely from Monday, January 3, 2022 through Sunday, January 30, 2022 and will have a variable schedule. Applicants must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, as Technical Leads will not have consistent hours from week to week. The position will work 8-12 hours per week leading up to the Festival and then anywhere from 14-24 total hours during the Festival (January 20-30) . These hours may include evenings, early mornings, and weekends to meet shift needs. A laptop computer will be provided for the duration of the seasonal employment dates. A reliable, high-speed internet connection with at least 10 mbps download speed is required.

Top priorities include but are not limited to…
• Leading tech checks prior to screenings to ensure functionality across platforms, including Zoom Webinar and YouTube livestream.
• Setting up Zoom meetings and building Q&A decks as outlined and assigned.
• Actively monitoring events to respond to networking or technology issues in “real time.”
• Answering and resolving panelist and staff questions regarding productions specific to technical streaming support, which may include troubleshooting OS/browser compatibility and settings, bandwidth, and device configuration.
• Escalating and notifying the Team Lead of urgent issues during assigned live events.
• Proactively sharing troubleshooting tips and effective workarounds with team members.
• Ensuring updates to products and procedures are communicated in a timely manner to all internal stakeholders.
• Communicating and documenting inappropriate behavior, operational, and staff issues to the Team Lead.
• Completing a comprehensive written wrap report, as directed.

You have the following direct or transferable skill sets:
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• 2 years customer support technical troubleshooting experience.
• Ability to mitigate conflict and facilitate positive customer relations.
• Working knowledge of media streaming devices including Zoom and YouTube systems.
• Ability to type 30 WPM.
• Ability to mitigate conflict and facilitate positive customer relations.
• Strong computer skills, proficiency with Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android operating systems with working knowledge of media streaming devices.
• Outstanding interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work a variable and flexible schedule due to multiple shift rotations as needed.
• Ability to maintain a suitable home work environment, free from noise and distractions.
• Previous work from home experience is a plus.

• Comfortably understand live streaming and working with YouTube to seamlessly operate live streaming events during the Festival.
• Lead tech checks with Sundance colleagues and Talent comfortably and effectively.
• Remain calm and collected when issues arise and problem-solve to resolve things quickly.
