POSITION OVERVIEW
The Associate Director, Collab is charged with ensuring the technical and operational success of Sundance Institute Collab, an inclusive digital community that brings together artists and experienced advisors to learn from each other.
The Associate Director, Collab works closely under the Director, Collab to oversee the operational and technological aspects of the platform, while helping to secure, implement, and manage partnerships, both domestically and internationally. This position supports Sundance Institutes commitment to championing independent artists and increasing the reach of our mission through our online education platform, fostering a culture of innovation, excellence, and continuous improvement.
This full-time position may work remotely from within any of our operating states and requires a forward-thinking individual who can balance day-to-day operational excellence with strategic vision for future growth. Extended hours, including evenings and weekends, will be required at key points throughout the year. Travel to Institute offices and events may also be required on occasion.
Top priorities include but are not limited to
• Strategizing and planning operations, product management, partnerships, and execution of the Collab online learning platform.
• Working closely with the Director, Collab and the Chief Product and Technology Officer on developing and leading a multi-year strategy to plan and prioritize data and technology initiatives, with an emphasis on revenue generation, technological innovation, and operational scalability.
• Staying up-to-date on best practices and emerging trends in the field to help inform online learning product design and implementation.
• Identifying opportunities for process automation and digital transformation.
• Assisting in identifying and securing strategic partnerships to expand Collabs reach around the world.
• Identifying key program metrics, conducting data gathering and ongoing research to analyze and evaluate goals, measure success, drive results and suggest data-driven strategies and collaborate with the Marketing team on data initiatives, as needed.
• Setting objectives and goals, developing plans, schedules and assignments, anticipating and adjusting for problems and roadblocks, measuring performance, and evaluating results.
• Overseeing daily platform operations, ensuring exceptional user experience.
• Working with the Director, Collab and the Chief Product and Technology Officer to guide the technical direction of the platform, staying ahead of educational technology trends and innovations.
• Evaluating and recommending new technologies and tools to improve operational efficiency.
• Leading technology modernization initiatives to maintain competitive advantage.
• Developing, implementing, and managing operational policies, procedures, and standards for the team and the site.
• Collaborating with Director, Collab and the accessibility committee on ensuring best practices on the platform.
• Building relationships with other internal departments and with external vendors and service providers to manage and oversee changes to the Institutes online learning products.
• Hiring, managing, and overseeing the Collab operations team, including selecting and training highly effective employees, providing direction, feedback, mentorship, and support to ensure effectiveness.
• Collaborating with the Director, Collab on creating, planning for, and adhering to realistic budgets, making adjustments as necessary.
• Managing day-to-day operational budgets and resource allocation and liaising with the Finance team.
• Collaborating with technical teams to enhance platform functionality, scalability, and security.
• Working closely with the Technology Services team and external vendors to execute the learning product roadmap, including, but not limited to creative/UX enhancement and technical delivery.
• Working with the Director, Collab to package and curate content, conducting regular audits.
• Serving as operational lead in the absence of the Director, Collab.
You have the following direct or transferable skill sets:
• 7 years managing digital platforms to maximize user experience, audience acquisition, and retention.
• 5 plus years of operations management experience.
• Demonstrated experience with technology management and digital transformation.
• Adept with data management and analysis.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and support virtual teams with a collaborative management style.
• Strong communication skills with a proven ability to develop strategic partnerships and foster productive relationships across a wide range of people.
• Strong understanding of business and technology, with an interest in emerging innovations such as artificial intelligence and a comprehensive knowledge of the film and television landscape and industry.
• Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail.
• Strategic mindset, including the ability to anticipate, define, and prevent problems, investigate obstacles, and gather relevant information to arrive at alternative workable solutions.
• Proven ability to develop and execute strategic goals, with strong project management skills and the ability to design efficient, scalable workflows.
• Knowledge of data privacy regulations and educational compliance requirements is a plus.
• Familiarity with online learning platforms or learning management systems and content delivery networks is a plus.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

In addition to an annual salary of $100,000.00 to $110,000.00*, this position is eligible for our comprehensive benefits package, highlights include:

*Final rate of pay is determined based on the applicant's geographic location, relevant experience and skills, and internal equity among similar positions within our organization.
