Job Description
Summary of Position

The SVP, Tax will play an integral role in leading the company's Global Tax Planning, Accounting & Reporting. They will work closely with key finance, legal and other business partners across the company.

Responsibilities
• Effectively manage an outsourced tax function and be prepared to build a highly functional tax department, when appropriate.

• Lead foreign, international, federal and state tax planning initiatives.

• Develop and implement viable tax strategies, structures, and tax reporting positions that minimize tax liabilities for the company. Effectively interact with internal and external auditors, leading our income tax provision for SEC reporting purposes.

• Forecasting income taxes for FP&A, the CFO and Board meetings.

• Track and analyze foreign, international, federal and state tax developments so that the company properly complies with the law on a timely basis and develop tax positions that minimize their effect.

• Effectively defend tax positions in controversy at the examination, appellate and litigation levels.

• Model tax implications of various business initiatives.

• Critically review complex tax calculations.

• Lead tax compliance.

• Implement process improvement ideas.

• Advise leadership on the latest trends and changes to tax legislation that will impact our tax provision and tax planning efforts.

• Interact effectively with the National Office of Big Four Accounting firms and major law firms.

Qualifications & Skills
• 15 years relevant work experience at a Big Four firm and/or tax department at a publicly traded company

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business or economics

• CPA required, JD and/or Masters degree preferred

• Expert knowledge of US federal and multi-state tax principles and the related impact to financial statements

• Expert knowledge of transfer pricing concepts and international tax concepts (both pre and post TCJA) and the related impact to financial statements.

• Ability to articulate tax concepts to other areas of the company and senior executives the Board of Directors.

• Strong analytic skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy of our income tax provision, forecasts and other tax models.

• Excellent project management, organization, communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to mentor and develop staff.

• Experience in the Entertainment Industry a plus.
