Summary of Position

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer who is passionate about technology and making data accessible for technical and non-technical users. You are joining the team which is focused on our content ingest and delivery platform that is responsible for ingesting, organizing, transcoding, and delivering hundreds of thousands of hours of content around the world each month. The ideal candidate has a learners mindset and a passion for high-quality, reliable, and maintainable code.

You're comfortable working side by side with product managers, designers, and stakeholders, making decisions together in order to quickly deliver value to users and increase our ability to elastically scale in an efficient manner to meet the growing demand for our content. You understand the value of working in an agile environment with continuous feedback loops to iterate and improve on team practices and processes. You prioritize team success over individual success and believe the ultimate success metric is the happiness of our users.

Responsibilities
• 3+ years of full-stack software development experience

• Experience with C# .NET or more various programming languages/technologies (i.e. C#, Java, C/C++, Objective C, JavaScript, Python, Spring, React, or Go)

• Experience working with two or more from the following: web application development, Unix/Linux environments, cloud application development (AWS), distributed and parallel systems, machine learning, information retrieval, networking, media transcoding, and or developing large software systems.

• Experience participating in the software development lifecycle to develop microservice, event-based platforms.

• Current certification or demonstrable experience with one of the leading cloud platforms: AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.

• Experience with Git, Continuities Integration, and Continuous Deployment of cloud-based applications.

• Empathy and strong communication skills

• Experience in training, mentoring, and/or up-skilling engineers

• Interest in a pair-programming environment

• Passion for growing your skills, tackling interesting work, and challenging problems

• Practical knowledge of a variety of agile methodologies

Qualifications & Skills
• BA/BS in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience

• Experience building cloud-based enterprise software. Preferred AWS

• Experience with Docker and other virtualization technologies.

• Experience with integration with third party market products used within the organization.

• Experience with modern JavaScript front end technologies: Angular, React, or Vue.js

• Experience with one or more relational and/or non-relation databases.

• Experience building and deploying in a continuous delivery environment.

• Experience with functional programming

• Experience in Test Driven Development (TDD)

• Experience navigating complex organizations

Compensation

$109,000 - $140,700
