Summary of Position

Starz is seeking a talented Senior Product Designer with a proven track record to help design the next generation of video experiences within the Digital Platforms team. This position will help define the UX/UI vision and inspire others to execute against that vision across multiple platforms for the Starz Video Streaming App, including web, mobile, and TV. This role will be expected to lead design projects from ideation to delivery and QA. They will be responsible for creating early design concepts, producing prototypes and video demos, maintaining a UI style guide, and delivering final refined visual designs for all needed breakpoints and device sizes. They will collaborate with Product to ensure the design will meet the business goals and Development to ensure UI feasibility. Then they will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the UX/UI is faithfully implemented. This is an empowering Design role where you contribute and deliver the solutions we create for our customers within a collaborative environment.

A strong candidate will balance customer empathy and advocacy with proportional business outcomes - pushing towards clear results to help achieve STARZ's business objectives. They must possess strong visual UI design skills, work efficiently with attention to detail and be an innovative self-starter with strong collaboration skills. They must have confidence when designing and presenting work, yet be humble enough to take direction when necessary. We will not consider any candidate without first reviewing their portfolio.

Responsibilities
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners and Business Analysts to ideate new features and solve customer and business problems.

• Support collaboration by organizing and facilitating design workshops.

• Design site maps, user flows, wireframes, and UI's that work within technical or executive constraints.

• Create and iterate prototypes to formalize the design direction through UXR

• Work alongside the UX Research team to facilitate appropriate testing plans and perform analysis e.g. finding KPIs for Business Cases and outlining benchmark testing and user testing criteria

• Analyze data from user testing, app analytics, surveys, and other data sources to design and recommend the best app user experience

• Deliver design artifacts for final designs to all supported platforms; including mobile devices, tied TV devices, game consoles, home media streamers, and browser (web) environments.

• Support the development and QA process by answering questions and updating designs as needed.

• Be the user interface design expert for our applications across platforms and understand the native UI conventions of the platform: TV, native mobile, and web.

• Develop and maintain style guides, design systems, software assets, and other related design documentation

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in user-centered design, visual design/graphic design, user experience or related field highly preferred

• 5+ years experience in a Visual Design role.

• 3+ years of industry experience in UI on mobile apps is essential.

• Expertise in Sketch, Zeplin, and Adobe CC Product Suite

• Experience with After Effects, Paintcode, xCode, HTML, Bootstrap, or Java is a plus

• Strong verbal, written, and visual presentation skills with the ability to speak confidently about your design solutions from a user-centered perspective

• Possess strong collaboration skills with other stakeholders and team members, including but not limited to; Executives, Product Owners, UI and UX designers, UX Researchers, and Software Developers.

• Excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to clearly communicate complex solutions using strong communication and presentation skills as well as excellent relationship management.

• Have your finger on the pulse of UI trends and are inspired by best-in-class visual design.

• Has excellent personal time-management skills and is comfortable managing multiple projects at once with minimal guidance

• Experience in the entertainment, cable, programming, and broadcast industry preferred
