Software UI Engineer

Summary of Position:

Starz is a leading premium content provider and has a number of small, start-up like teams that help to deliver content all around the world. You’ll help us iterate on our content ingest and delivery platform that is responsible for ingesting, transcoding, and delivering hundreds of thousands of hours of content around the world each month. You’ll have the opportunity in a fast-moving team to have a big impact in helping to increase our ability to create easy to use applications that help increase company efficiency and tell the content-lifecycle story internally to Starz.

Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software

• Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables

Experience & Skills:
• BS degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience

• Software development experience in JavaScript and the modern JavaScript ecosystem

• Experience with modern JavaScript front end technologies: Angular, React, or Vue.js

• Experience working with two or more from the following: web application development, Unix/Linux environments, cloud application development, distributed and parallel systems, machine learning, information retrieval, networking, media transcoding, and or developing large software systems

• Experience participating in the software development lifecycle to develop modern JavaScript based front-ends using current design practices such as SPA and micro-frontends

• Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English

• Experience with Git and the GitFlow branching pattern

• Current certification or demonstrable experience with AWS

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s, PhD degree, further education or experience in engineering, computer science or other technical related field

• Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Java, C/C++, C#, Objective C, Python, or Go

• Experience with Docker and other virtualization technologies

• Experience with Continuities Integration and Continuous Deployment of cloud-based applications
