Summary of Position

The Release Engineer position supports Starz Authentication/Authorization/Billing/Subscriber services, which are critical, revenue driving services for our OTT platforms. This role is on a backend services team that supports a myriad of device/web platforms and our Enterprise Data Warehouse. The primary function of the Release Engineer is to consistently ensure that the team is operating smoothly towards each successive release to Production. The candidate will possess strong organizational skills and the ability to keep multiple competing priorities aligned and on track. They will have experience facilitating and participating in team-wide conversations and have a collaboration-first mentality. The selected candidate MUST have experience in the software development life cycle for backend services and APIs as well as integrating different backend systems/platforms together. The position requires Systems Integration/Analysis & Cross-Platform/Application knowledge, as well as an understanding of the organization's systems and capabilities. The candidate will be comfortable analyzing and understanding the interconnection & communication between different services, clients, and data sources. Successful applicants will be familiar with websites, apps, and console platforms, third party billing integrations/platforms and OTT subscriber data sets.

Responsibilities
• Manage Software Development/QA Agile processes (Run stand-ups, Code Deployments, Backlog Grooming Assistance/Prioritization, User & Process Documentation, Team Ticketing Boards).

• Support Development, QA and Production services with required configurations.

• Develop and monitor reports/alerts/dashboards.

• Facilitate the triaging of new work tickets to ensure they are scheduled for appropriate release dates that meet business goals.

• Work closely/collaborate with the services development team, manual testers, client engineering and QA teams to troubleshoot & resolve issues in production and lower-level environments.

• Assist with onboarding new team members through knowledge sharing, when applicable.

• Flexibility to work extended hours / weekends when needed.

Qualifications & Skills
• BS degree in computer science, software engineering or equivalent technical field.

• 3+ years working directly as a member of a technical team, preferably managing priorities and releases.

• Strong comprehension of API's, Web Services, SOAP, REST.

• Firsthand use of development tools including JIRA, Bamboo, SoapUI, Postman.

• Experience with cloud environment/technologies (AWS S3, Lambdas, EBS).

• Ability and willingness to self-motivate and prioritize in what may be a chaotic environment at times, all with a positive, team player attitude.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience with logging tools such as Splunk a plus

$94,000 - $124,000
