Summary of Position:

The Programming Specialist manages a high volume of movie and series content for subscribers on multiple domestic and international streaming and On Demand platforms, including, but not limited to, the STARZ app, the STARZPLAY app, STARZ On Demand, STARZ ENCORE On Demand, MOVIEPLEX On Demand. The Programming Specialist builds schedules within the parameters set by the business rules and contractual requirements tied to the content. The Programming Specialist assists in the creation and maintenance of compelling content offerings that reflect the strength of the STARZ brand.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist in creating and scheduling monthly stunts and collections; keep an active line of communication with the Product team to bring them to life

• Manage and comply with a dynamic set of content scheduling parameters including, but not limited to, studio contract rules, affiliate contract requirements, and internal business rules

• Generate non-linear title analysis reports on a monthly and ad hoc basis

• Analyze weekly app engagement trends, and make recommendations to the Director for scheduling opportunities to take advantage of those trends

• Track status of all Quality Control and Materials issues and make version/materials adjustments as needed

• Track, update, and communicate changes to scheduled content, categories, and targeted programming collections on all streaming and On Demand services

• Perform User Acceptance Testing for the current planning & scheduling systems

• Mitigate operational issues such as metadata updates and re-encode requests

• Coordinate with multiple internal departments, including Business Affairs and Marketing, to ensure that the nonlinear schedules align with company goals

• Work as a team to ensure that all movie and series content metadata is up to date

• Assist in modeling new non-linear products and services based on existing inventory and limitations

• Research and fix discrepancies between internal scheduling and external affiliates

Experience & Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast, Film or similar discipline preferred; Minimum two years related experience and/or training; And/or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Extremely detail-oriented and organized, with problem-solving abilities

• Ability to multi-task

• Strong written communication skills

• Excellent math skills

• Strong Microsoft Office proficiency, including Excel and PowerPoint

• Thorough knowledge of motion picture and television productions including STARZ Originals, original programming on competing streaming services, current theatrical releases, and general film

• Experience in scheduling and planning software a plus
