Summary of Position

The STARZ Data Products & Engineering team is seeking a Manager of Software Development in Data Engineering with exceptional organization and software development skills with C#. In this position, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our data engineering strategy, leading a team of distributed software development professionals, and driving the development of robust and scalable data solutions. As the Manager of Software Development in Data Engineering, you will be a strategic and technical leader, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to support data-driven initiatives and ensure the reliability and performance of our data systems.

Responsibilities
• Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of software developers in data engineering with a focus on C#, AWS, Snowflake.

• Oversee the design, development, maintenance, and day-to-day operations of multiple data pipelines and associated applications. Ensure timely and predictable releases of quality software and data products.

• Work as a subject matter expert in the data being managed by the team to answer questions and create ad-hoc products from this data.

• Refine and execute the software development strategy, aligning it with the company's data engineering vision.

• Participate in code reviews and ensure the team consistently adheres to software development best practices and coding standards.

• Collaborate closely with key stakeholders and peers to define and implement the data infrastructure strategy.

• Partner with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to deeply understand their data requirements and deliver software solutions that empower their work.

• Oversee the continuous monitoring and optimization of software applications and data pipelines to meet and exceed service level agreement and support real-time data processing as needed.

• Implement robust security controls and policies to ensure data security and compliance with data privacy regulations.

• Maintain thorough documentation for software development processes and provide training and mentorship to team members as required.

• Manage and cultivate relationships with external software service providers, vendors, and cloud platform providers.

Qualifications and Skills
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Eight or more years' experience building high performance, high throughput enterprise data applications in C#.

• Two or more year's experience as a team lead or software development manager

• Expert level proficiency building cloud-native, containerized applications using C#, AWS, and Docker.

• Experience with enterprise data processing frameworks and tools.

• Expertise with AWS and infrastructure as code.

• Strong database knowledge, including SQL and NoSQL databases, with expert level SQL skills.

• Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and strategic thinking skills.

• Familiarity with data governance and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR and PII) is advantageous.
