Manager, Corporate Communications (Temporary Contractor)

Summary of Position

Location: Santa Monica, CA (Hybrid schedule with Monday – Thursday in office and Friday work from home)

Duration: Approximately 3 months with a target start date of ASAP

Rate: $2,000-$2,500/week depending on experience

This temporary employee will be paid as a W-2 employee through a 3rd party payroll service. We are unable to consider candidates who can only be set-up as a W-9 Consultant.

The Corporate Communications team is seeking a temporary contractor at the Manager level to support the department across its various areas of oversight – corporate and internal communications, government relations, diversity initiatives and brand initiatives and communications. The Manager will carry out functional job tasks associated with the department's business purpose commensurate with the following responsibilities.

Responsibilities
• Writes and edits written correspondence and materials including corporate press materials and press releases

• Handles and supports in correspondence with Press, Industry partners, Congressional offices for events or other business needs

• Manages and communicates corporate communications announcements/timing to key stakeholders

• Manages logistics and gathers key materials for company's employee meetings

• Manages and helps execute internal and external events including post-event activities

• Writes and edits bespoke newsletter entries as needed

• Writes, coordinates and supports department in making press announcements

• Identifies pitch angles and helps draft media pitches

• Maintains updated editorial calendars and contributes to pitch angle ideas

• Identifies press-worthy soundbites from various panels and events

• Regularly identify new press targets and provide research on relevant press coverage or information as needed

• Manages internal and external communications including with all cross-functional partners, talent/talent reps, partners, among others.

• Collaborates with internal stakeholders on DEIA related efforts

• Monitors, identifies, researches and drafts submissions for appropriate industry awards for company and/or senior executives

• Updates executive bios as needed

• Manages coordination with third-party orgs for resource cards

• Manages in creating briefing documents for press interviews

• Helps manage executive photo shoots and media training

• Liaises with department's communications agency

• Partners with HR in leading employee events

• Other job duties as assigned to contribute to achieving the department's business objectives

Qualifications and Skills
• Bachelor's degree in Public Relations or similar discipline is preferred; minimum 3-5 years of experience in a consumer or business-oriented communications environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Strong computer skills including Internet, Outlook, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required

• Familiarity with tools such as Airtable, Canva, etc.

• Possess excellent organization, time and project management skills

• Strong research ability and experience

• Possess the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize

• Has a great attention to details and ability

• Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

• Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and work proactively in a fast paced, high volume, creative and deadline-oriented environment with the ability to react with appropriate levels of urgency to situations and events that require quick response or turnaround

• Experience working with high-level executives and maintaining the utmost of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information and dealing with professionals inside and outside the company

• A passion for entertainment industry
