Job Description

Summary of Position:

Starz is currently seeking an international audience and marketing insights leader to join the Insight and Analytics department. She/he will serve as a change agent in the company – providing the international marketing teams with deep and actionable insights about campaign performance to help meet aggressive subscriber growth goals. The role will also be responsible for developing a best class understanding of Starz’s customers globally.

The candidate will be highly collaborative and work cross-functionally. The role is highly visible and includes senior management stakeholders within marketing, distribution, product, and content acquisition.

• Lead the Insights & Analytics department’s International Audience & Marketing Insights efforts

• Supervise a small analytics team

• Provide marketing team deep and actionable audience, creative, and platform insights

• Partner with direct response and media buying agencies to define and implement campaign measurement of integrated marketing campaigns, including TV, OOH, Digital and Social Media

• Work closely with the Media & Strategy Planning and DR teams to define KPIs and key metrics used in marketing campaigns globally

• Build marketing analytics dashboards for all levels of organization, both within the marketing organization and among other departments

• Utilize and develop innovative techniques to test and understand what drives success with our content. Communicate findings to development, marketing, press, and executive producers

• Synthesize learnings and present actionable and contextually relevant insights to organizational stakeholders

Experience & Skills:
• BA/BS/MS in Math, Economics, Statistics, Market Research, or other quantitative field

• 10+ years in marketing analytics

• 5+ years’ experience working with the major analytics and attribution platforms: Google Analytics, Tune, MixPanel, etc

• 5+ years’ experience working with data visualization and business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Looker, etc

• 5+ years’ experience developing marketing channel attribution structures and methodologies

• 5+ years’ experience analyzing and evaluating marketing success in international territories with a strong preference for Western Europe and LATAM

• Strong communications skills, including the abilities to distill and relay data to a variety of audiences, including senior executives

• Experience understanding consumers with respect to the TV and streaming landscape strongly preferred, including experience leading viewer studies such as episode testing and creative testing

• Experience establishing research objectives, identifying appropriate methodologies, writing surveys, creating sound sampling and weighting schemes, and analyzing results based on business and research objectives

• Hands on expertise managing and conducting the entire research process from research framing, questionnaire design, vendor selection and management, to distilling raw data into actionable insights and adapting for multiple stakeholders

• Occasional travel to New York, i.e. every 2-3 months
