Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: We are seeking a full time Staff or Senior Accountant to oversee and manage the day-to-day live event accounting for 2 music venues in our portfolio. This person will be responsible for owning all aspects of venue accounting and must be self-motivated and able to multitask.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Prepares and presents monthly financial statements and related reports, including but not limited to balance sheets, income statements, and CM workbooks, by month end deadline

· Prepare and audit event P&Ls after the show plays off with the help of venue operations staff

· Review and reconcile general ledger activity to ensure all activity is properly recorded and reflected according to GAAP

· Prepares and cleans up balance sheet account reconciliations on a monthly basis

· Process accounts payable transactions and ensure that all invoices are paid accurately and in accordance with policies and procedures

· Process payments to bands and vendors and manage vendor files for 1099 purposes

· Review and manage P-Card transactions and approvals

· Manage cash receipts (box office, show cash) and accounts receivable and work closely with venue team to ensure that revenues and receivables are recorded properly.

· Performs the processing of monthly accruals, amortization of prepaid expenses, and recording of adjusting and reclassification journal entries

· Prepare and file sales tax returns on a monthly basis.

· Assist with special projects as needed

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

  • Ability to work with all levels of management and manage venue relationships
  • Proficiency with accounting systems and spreadsheets (MS Excel, QuickBooks Online, Bill.com)
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to enthusiastically work within a fast-paced environment
  • Proven leadership and business acumen skills
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ (Staff) or 2-4 years (Senior) comparable work experience, preferred
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online and Bill.com, preferred
