Job Description
Spotify's Music team is seeking an outstanding and shown leader with deep knowledge of marketing and partnerships to fill the Head of Hip Hop and R&B Artist Partnerships role.

The Head of Hip Hop & R&B Artist Partnerships will be responsible for all North American Hip Hop and R&B Artist Partnerships functions, including defining our strategy towards targeting the genre's audiences with playlist marketing. You will work closely across many of Spotify's key cross-functional teams including Label Partnerships, Editorial, Music Marketing, Creative Development, Experiential Marketing, and more. The Head of Hip Hop and R&B Artist Partnerships will lead the team innovating around the prioritization of Spotify as a partner, through year-round, off-cycle partnerships. You will also focus on the build-out of sophisticated opportunities across audiences, genres, and fandoms to ensure Spotify continues to deliver the best offerings to artists and rights holders, while crafting the most exciting platform for audiences everywhere.

Qualified candidates should have significant experience working in the entertainment media space in a marketing and/or partnership role, and have a deep understanding of tech companies. What You'll Do:
• Lead a team across Hip Hip and R&B Partnerships
• Launch programs to help Spotify's music goals
• Partner with Music Marketing to ensure Spotify is the best and most effective marketer
• Continue to launch innovative campaigns and drive cultural conversations
• Market and grow playlist brands to become household names and target specific audiences
• Improve and define value exchange with Artists and Managers
• Lead the free / paid balance with artists and labels
• Serve as a senior representative of Spotify's marketing in the music industry
• Be a leader in the Music team
• Travel locally and internationally on a regular basis
• You will be based out of our NYC or LA office

Who You Are:
• You have a deep knowledge of Hip Hop and R&B and the music industry
• You have led large creative teams in the past
• You have asolid understanding of partnership/marketing programs that each DSP offers
• You know what drives artists, managers, rights holders as it relates to DSP programming and initiatives
• You are curious about travel, geography, and culture
• You have an academic degree and significant leadership experience with an established digital music service, record label or artist management company
• You are a strong leader and influencer who is able to develop a healthy team culture
• You are able to build close working relationships with peers and management across broad and complex geographic regions
• You possess a perfect level of written and spoken English
• You have experience in marketing, strategy and operations, music and technology
• You are a strong communicator with excellent negotiating and communication skills
• You possess strong analytical skills, be responsible for the ability and aim to continuously source, analyze and interpret data, using it to set performance targets and long-term business goals
• You are well organized, with the ability to plan and deliver
• You have a well-adapted approach to managing processes and streamlining workflows

Where You'll Be:
• The role will report directly to our Global Head of Artist Partnerships and Audience and will be based out of our NYC or LA office.

The United States base range for this position is $143,333- 204,761, plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays, paid sick leave. These ranges may be modified in the future

Salary Range: $143,333 to $204,761 Per Year ($ USD)
