Who are we hiring?
This camera technician will be responsible for supporting a live-action field crew capture unit. This in-house, self-directed strike team will be responsible for weekly shooting in an ongoing effort to define the Sphere aesthetic vocabulary. This experimentation will stretch from the technical to the experiential with the focus on defining ''What works in Sphere?'' as well as support larger productions when appropriate.
This role be a technical support role that will own and manage camera systems and hardware tools for Sphere cinematography. It will also keep our broad palette of custom camera and camera support tools working reliably. Expect to work closely with Sphere Capture, Production, and Post Production, and engineering teams on projects that extend beyond traditional camera systems.
What will you do?
• Supporting reliable field deployment of camera systems
• On-set slating, logging, and documentation
• Troubleshooting and identifying equipment issues, perform appropriate maintenance and repairs
• Testing and operating proprietary camera/capture equipment
• Assist in defining Sphere-specific Aesthetic Vocabulary
What do you need to s/ucceed?
• Bachelor's Degree in relevant field or equivalent experience
• 5+ years camera field work experience as a 1 st or 2 nd assistant camera or field technician
• Experience in servicing and repairing professional cameras preferred
• Understanding of film and video production, digital workflows, cinematography, virtual reality, and/or post-production tools, protocols, and environment
• Be up-to-date on the latest developments and innovations in the field of advanced cinematography
• Exceptional optical and mechanical skills
• Adaptable / flexible in high-stress environments
• Ability to work independently and make critical decisions without supervision
• Able to lift up to 50lbs
Pay Range
$107,000 - $125,000 USD
