Job Description

The South Shore Music Circus and Cape Cod Melody tent, headquartered in Cohasset, Massachusetts, is looking for a full-time year- round General Manager with live concert venue management experience. This is a new position and candidates must be passionate, driven, resourceful and innovative and have a full working knowledge of venue operations, including box office, baffle system, theatre interior, seats, stage mechanics, concessions, sound and lights, and hospitality. The General Manager is responsible for all logistical requirements for visiting artists with the Production Manager and Tour Manager. As the General Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the venue which includes overseeing operations, production, food and beverage, ticketing, promotions/marketing and personnel.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES

· Report directly to and communicate daily with the Chief Executive Officer/Executive Producer

· In coordination with the CEO/Executive Producer and Controller, ensure annual insurance policies are updated and all related insurance requirements are followed. This includes annually updated Evacuation Procedures, Driver Monitoring and training, workers compensation and all other insurance related requirements.

· Coordinate with the Controller on all accounting matters, including invoices, checks written, show recaps, merchandising, concessions and deposit details

· Coordinate with the Office Manager on Town of Cohasset and Barnstable annual permits.

· Coordinate with Facility Manager to ensure local Police Department is scheduled based on show requirements.

· Work with Facility and Production Manger to recruit, hire and train all necessary staff.

· Ensure managers complete all new hire paperwork and payroll is complete and sent to the ControllereveryMonday morning.

· Oversee weekly scheduling to ensure staffing reflects needs based on ticket sales in all departments.

· Maintain regular contact with Facility Manager, Production Manager, Box Office Manager, Marketing Coordinator, Concessions Manager, House Manager, Merchandise Seller, etc. to ensure smooth operations

· Oversee Box Office, Ushers, Gate Keepers, Security and Maintenance Crews. Coordinate all day of event activities.

· Hire train and schedule full and part-time employees, and work closely with all subcontractors and/or third party vendors.

· Supervise maintenance crew with Facility Manager to coordinate tent installation and removal.

· Ensure all is in working order before the first event of the season; COVID Requirements, HVAC, plumbing, Electrical, Alarm, Ice Machines, Walk in Coolers, Draft System, ATM

· Attention to cleanliness of venue before, during and after events.

· Review and proof show announcement sheets for accuracy with approved upcoming shows and ensure announcements are made at the appropriate times.

· Review show settlement with CEO/Executive Producer before 6:00 pm day of show.

· Coordinate with Production Manager to ensure settlement for all merchandise sold is completed and approved before end of night.

· Responsible for cleanliness, safety, security and emergency preparedness of the venue, staff, artists and patrons.

· Due to the nature of our industry, all staff are required to be vaccinated.

BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS

· 5+ years concert venue operations management experience with a minimum of 3 years leading and developing teams across organizational functions

· Required to be on site at the venues. This is not a remote position.

· Experience building strong relationships and rapport with all levels of staff, artists and touring staff

· Ability to work within a deadline-oriented, fast-paced team environment, juggling multiple projects and priorities at once while delivering high quality work.

· Maintain professional and technical knowledge by reviewing professional publications, establishing networks and monitoring other concert venues.
