Job Description
Sony Music's Thread Shop is a centralized, in-house team focused on creating a world class merchandising experience combining expertise, strategic brand identity and concierge level attention to create perfect artist expressions maximizing cultural impact for its roster of artists. This includes artist tours, pop ups and events with dynamic full-service merchandising and fulfillment, e-commerce and retail opportunities with worldwide reach and custom products, as well as customized design services with a focus on brand collaboration and licensing opportunities.

We partner directly with artists and their teams to create a unique and customized look and feel that translates to a distinctive brand for each of our artists. The SVP, Head of The Thread Shop is responsible for the leadership, strategic direction, and financial performance of The Thread Shop, leading the merchandising, product development, and touring functions across all of Sony Music's labels.

What you'll do:
• Play a key role in driving strategy through an artist first mind-set, fostering cross-functional team collaboration, developing talent, and supporting the continuous evolution and growth of the business, with a focus on expanding our global footprint and reach
• Partner closely with Label Executives, Artists, Artist Management, Agents, Lawyers and other key stakeholders to ideate and develop strategies and go to market plans
• Establish and execute short-term and long-term financial goals and business objectives, partnering closely with Frontline Labels, Marketing, Sales and Creative teams to provide a world class experience for our artists and fans
• Lean into marketing and consumer insights to drive strategies and business outcomes concentrated on merchandising collaborations and external brand partnership
• Engage and lead a high-performing team with a demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive culture and prioritizing diverse representation internally and with external partners

Who you are:
• 10+ years relevant merchandising experience with a proven track record of leading innovative teams and demonstrated experience with creative relationships
• You have a good business acumen and a comprehensive understanding of the merchandising marketplace with the ability to synthesize competitive market trends, market data and consumer insights into merchandising strategies for artists and new products
• You have a thorough understanding of fans and the ability to translate insights into successful fan/artist experiences
• You are an inclusive and empathetic leader and can skillfully lead and motivate a diverse team with clarity, vision, inspiration and integrity
• You are charismatic and have strong relationship building and communication skills and can influence and drive collaboration at all levels within the organization, as well as with external stakeholders
• You have excellent time management, follow-up, and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize projects and workload in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• You are a strategic thinker and a creative, bright individual who is business savvy and demonstrates good judgment
• You are self-motivated, able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines with a strong attention to detail
• You have expertise in leading projects from concept to completion
• You are a passionate music fan
• Experience with acquiring and integrating teams is a strong plus
• Bachelor's degree preferred
