Job Description

As Senior Director, Digital Strategy & Investments, you will play a key role in evaluating and executing on investment opportunities as well as developing digital strategy, helping to set the overall strategic direction of the company. Your role will focus on identifying and developing opportunities at the intersection of music, media, and technology that build value for the company and our artists.

What you'll do:
• Play a role in evaluating Sony Music's strategic direction by closely monitoring ongoing developments in the digital media and investment landscapes and conducting rigorous industry research and analysis
• Analyze and form investment theses for potential target investments aligned with the digital group's strategic priorities
• Develop detailed financial valuation models and related analyses for a variety of companies in the digital media ecosystem to evaluate opportunities and support investment cases
• Run deal process on potential M&A and investment transactions, including working cross-functionally across SME to conduct due diligence and lead equity negotiations
• Create compelling strategy presentations and investment approval memos that offer insights and recommendations for senior management
• Engage with SME's global affiliates to assist or advise on local digital investments
• Monitor and manage relationships with portfolio digital companies on an ongoing basis

Who you are:
• You have a passion for music and deep interest in digital media and tech investing
• You have exceptional valuation modeling skills and are meticulous with analysis
• You are an effective communicator with a flair for presenting analysis clearly and creatively
• You're a proactive and organized self-starter, with agility to flex from high-level strategist to practical execution while managing multiple priorities and tight timelines
• You enjoy working with people across levels and functions in both collaborative and self-directed projects
• You have 8-10 years of experience in investment banking, management consulting, or corporate development within a digital media company and have a 4-year undergraduate degree (MBA preferred)
