Job Description

As Director, Label Analytics, you will play a key role within the commercial team for the Legacy label in utilizing data to influence strategic decision making across all aspects of the business including sales, marketing and finance. Your role will be the primary data expert, responsible for assessing the performance of sales and marketing campaigns, drawing insights from market, competitor, partner and consumer research, developing new reports, dashboards and methodologies, and overseeing the data needs of the label. This is a unique opportunity to lead the data journey at a catalog label that comprises some of the most important recordings in history.

What you'll do:
• Assess the performance of sales and marketing campaigns by investigating streaming trends and detailed consumer reaction data to help inform decisions
• Utilize internal and external business intelligence and data analytics tools to create new reports, dashboards, processes, and methodologies for assessing track/album/artist performance and uncovering actionable sales and marketing insights
• Perform deep dive research to understand the latest trends across the music industry, competitors, digital streaming partners, and consumer behavior and share those insights throughout the label to raise the overall streaming and sales business acumen and help the label stay ahead of the competition
• Continually monitor label and competitive market share shifts, understand driving forces behind changes, and identify opportunities to grow share and revenues
• Collaborate with label sales and finance teams to project forecast goals and understand how different factors impact the financial and market share picture
• Serve as the primary data expert for the label, understanding data sources and systems to ensure data integrity and report accuracy, working with technology teams to resolve technical data issues and implement enhancements to data systems, championing data education across the label, and addressing ad hoc sales and marketing analysis requests from senior management

Who you are:
• 6+ years of experience working with data
• Music experience highly preferred
• Advanced knowledge of all primary MS Office software and advanced Excel skills
• Experience with SQL and other programming languages and business intelligence tools such as Tableau and Alteryx
• Passionate about the music and entertainment business and have a desire to build a career in the industry
• Able to draw conclusions from data and propose effective solutions
• Excellent communicator and enthusiastic collaborator who works well with team members, external partners, and senior management
