Job Description
The Data Science and Analytics group focuses on maximizing the value Sony Music extracts from data. The Associate Director, Strategic Analytics is responsible for providing insights at a global level regarding the performance of Sony Music's top digital accounts. This person will design and execute compelling global deep dive analyses across multiple digital partners to support impactful business decisions for senior executives.
What you'll do:
• Conduct deep dive analyses for special projects focusing on market share, user engagement, subscriber growth and digital revenue maximization
• Utilize internal data systems and analytics tools from Sony Music's digital partners to synthesize data into custom insights and actionable findings
• Collaborate with internal teams – label and sales teams, business and partner development – and share findings from analyses
• Understand data sources and systems to ensure data integrity and report accuracy
• Develop data driven dashboards for use within various SME teams to help users better understand each partner and drive actions which result in stronger SME performance.
• Present analysis, special projects and other findings to senior management across Sony Music
Who you are:
• 5 years of analytic and/or music industry experience with a Bachelor or Master degree in an analytical field of study such as Economics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics
• Ability to dig into and identify trends in large datasets, display creativity in problem-solving, and generate new ideas
• Highly organized team player who is detail oriented and pro-active, can manage multiple tasks at once and can work independently while thriving in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively report findings and influence change within the organization
• Excellent Excel skills with experience designing PowerPoint presentations; Experience with Tableau, Alteryx or similar data visualization and blending tools as well as SQL using joins, nested sub-queries, aggregation, window functions, etc.

The anticipated annual base salary does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
New York Pay Range
$110,000 - $130,000 USD
