Job Description

As an Associate Director, Global Finance, you will sit within the Global Finance Group of the Sony Music organization. You will be responsible for consulting and advising business units on a proactive basis on accounting issues and policies. Also, you will ensure compliance across the global organization with US GAAP, IFRS and Sony Corporate policy, and implement the adoption of any new accounting standards. In addition, you will act as a liaison to the external auditors in preparation and retention of Financial Statement Information and disclosures in coordination with Sony Corporation and the respective business units within SME. This person will also work with Legal and Business Development and will liaise with our Global Tax team on accounting and tax impacts of our business decisions. This is a highly visible role within the Sony Music Finance organization and a key member of the Global Finance team with excellent growth potential.

What you'll do:
• Establish and maintain SME Global Finance policies, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, IFRS and Sony Corporate policies
• Monitor, assess and implement new accounting standards across Sony Music Entertainment
• Assist in determining accounting impacts of new business initiatives and transactions including acquisitions and disposals, impairments, consolidation, significant revenue streams and artist agreements
• Support and document Sony Music interpretation of technical guidance and write technical accounting memos
• Work closely with the Sony Music Global Digital team on review and analysis of contracts with Digital Service Providers for appropriate accounting treatment
• Communicate and coordinate with external auditors on audit issues and key accounting questions
• Oversee preparation of reports for Sony Corporation (Corporate Accounting Policies, support for financial statement footnote disclosures, completion of various quarterly and annual forms for SEC reporting at the Sony Corporate level)

Who you are:
• This is a hands on role requiring ability to get into detail, deal with complex accounting issues and clearly communicate conclusions to senior executives
• Bachelors or Masters Degree in Accounting/Finance
• CPA a must
• Minimum of 5 years of finance/accounting experience
• Some public accounting experience preferred
• Strong technical accounting skills
