Staff Accountant

Job Description

Sinclair Broadcast Group's Corporate Accounting department is seeking a driven, energetic Staff Accountant to join a growing company and team responsible for affiliate and retransmission accounting and reporting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Complete assigned journal entries and account reconciliations
• Compile monthly payments and remittance packages for each Television Network
• Work with various groups within the organization to ensure new network contracts are recognized correctly
• Assist with auditor requests during quarterly reviews and the annual audit
• Identify and implement improvements to systems and processes
• Complete ad-hoc reporting, analysis and other projects as needed
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and contracts

Qualifications:
• BS degree in Accounting/Finance
• 1 – 3 years of proven work experience as an Accountant
• Advanced Excel skills required – vlookup, sumif, pivot tables, logical functions
• Experience working in financial systems software, including general ledger and subledger, Oracle a plus
• Strong aptitude for accuracy and attention to detail
• Proven analytical and proactive problem-solving skills a must
• Ability to work independently as well as on a team, with strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, professional environment
