Job Description
Sinclair has an opportunity for a motivated and energetic Software Quality Assurance Engineer to drive the quality assurance process for designing and building Sinclair's Data Distribution as a Service (DDaaS) platform. The candidate should be a great collaborator and team player, with excellent communication skills who is comfortable working closely with fast-paced agile development teams.

Responsibilities
• Own the quality assurance process for the development, maintenance, and operations of the DDaaS platform, with focus on planning and conducting various testing activities (including activities performed by domestic and international development partners outside Sinclair,) such as, preparing test plans, designing test cases, conducting manual and automated testing, defining metrics to quantify quality of developed product, preparing status reports.
• Review QA activities performed by Sinclair's software development partners (domestic and international) and provide recommendations to ensure high quality of the DDaaS platform.
• Ensure full understanding of the DDaaS platform to provide training and support to the users of the platform.
• Prepare ad-hoc reports to answer business questions.
• Prepare and/or contribute to preparation of various documents (ex. user-guides, statement of works, workflow, data models, …).
• Contribute to activities related to collection and organization of users' feedback to help with introducing new product features and/or product feature enhancements.
• Attend and contribute to Agile ceremonies.
• Contribute towards team standards and best practices.

Technical Experience
• 6-8 years experience working as a software engineer, software QA engineer, UI/UX designer, or web applications developer.
• 2-3 years experience as a previous (but recent) role relevant to software quality assurance.
• 2-3 years Hands-on experience in developing test plans, writing and managing test cases, executing test cases, recording and managing defects, and reporting.
• 2-3 years hands-on experience in software testing including UI and API testing.
• 2-3 years hands-on experience in user acceptance testing, regression testing, software security testing, performance testing.
• 3-4 Hands-on experience in manual and automated testing
• Experience with RDBMSs and SQL, understanding data models, and demonstrated ability to write queries for data validation and reporting.
• Understanding applications and systems security vulnerabilities
• Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps concepts.
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and basic management of computing resources.
• Experience working in Agile development teams.
• Familiarity with business process workflows concepts.
• Prior experience with broadcast, wireless, telecom, and/or satellite industries.

Education/Certifications
• It is desired that the candidates have, at minimum, a B.S. in the field of engineering or science. Computer science, information technology, information systems, computer engineering, industrial engineering (with focus on system design and analysis,) applied mathematics, and applied physics are preferred.
• While a specific certification is not required for this position, a candidate with one or more certifications relevant to this role will be preferred.
