ONE Media is seeking a self-starting Senior Director of Technology Strategy to work in its ONE Media ''NextGen'' innovations group. This is a hands-on individual that will help define our technology strategy and vision that includes but is not limited to how ONE Media engages with various standards organizations. The Senior Director of Technology will also work closely with the vendor community to foster the development of Next Gen Broadcast compliant reception products. This individual will also provide vision, technical leadership, and program management for supporting Sinclair's Next Generation Wireless Platform (NWGP) initiative. The role also supports software and cloud related technology planning, promotion, and execution throughout the product/technology life cycle, including: gathering and prioritizing performance, execution and customer requirements, defining the technology roadmap and vision, and working closely with engineering, marketing and support to ensure expectations are met.

The candidate has every opportunity to grow as Sinclair implements NextGen technology in its business operations and develops extensions for a Next Generation Broadcast Platform.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):
• Promote One Media's vision through public forum, technology demonstrations and public speaking opportunities at key industry events
• Develop SDO engagement strategy and plan for ONE Media
• Actively participate and contribute to key initiatives at ATSC, 3GPP and other SDOs to ensure alignment with Sinclair's business objectives
• Develop a vendor strategy to encourage and promote rapid retail availability of ATSC 3 compliant receivers including TVs and low-cost STBs
• Support the One Media Lab staff through mentoring and training
• Serve as technical project lead and SME for key Sinclair initiatives
• Support ONE Media's Next Gen TV and Next Gen mobile services rollout
• Participate and support ONE Media's technology demonstrations at key events (NAB, CES, etc.)
• Support other ONE Media's key initiatives
• Run beta and pilot programs with early-stage ''Proof of Concept'' implementations
• Train internal resources to be able to promote and integrate technologies to the market successfully
• Be an expert with respect to the competition
• Act as a leader within the company

Required Skills and Qualifications:
• BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related subject, Master's degree (CE preferred)
• Education and knowledge of broadcasting, Cable, IPTV and Mobile
• Strong analytical skills and has a passion for technology
• Excellent organizational, leadership skills, able to work as a team, and a self-starter
• Can effectively organize, prioritize and respond to tasks and testing schedules with colleagues and vendors
• Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
• Proven project management experience
• Experience with SaFe methodology
• Good time-management skills
• Familiarity with productivity and collaboration software
• Great interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with video streaming technology (e.g., MPEG Dash, HLS, MSS and RTSP)
• Working experience with IP protocols, web technologies and cloud services
• Must be able to travel 25% of the time
