The Research Manager will be a key member of our Innovation & Strategy team at our Sinclair Broadcast Group. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting market and consumer research to identify trends, insights, and opportunities that will help drive the company's innovation and growth. This is your opportunity to shape the technology landscape that serves content and experiences representing news, entertainment, sports, and wherever the future takes us.  You will play a key role in assessing business needs, vetting vendors, unlocking POCs, and collaborating across Corporate IT, Technology, Digital, and Security teams to realize a cutting-edge, holistic, and scalable technology ecosystem.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in market and consumer research, as well as experience managing research teams and projects. You should be highly organized and able to work independently, with a strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent communication skills are also essential, as you will be required to present findings to senior leadership and other stakeholders. You are a big-picture thinker who knows how to zoom into the details and back up the 30,000-foot view with ease. You can act as an internal consultant to guide the business in making holistic, scalable, product-minded decisions. What You will Do 
• Support the Research Director in preparing entertainment industry & audience reports, specifically focusing on data visualization and analysis, as well as pulling data and insights from shared data sources
• Design and implement research projects, analyze data, and deliver insights and recommendations to senior leadership
• Collaborate with a diversity of partners, vendors, internal and external stakeholders, to garner a solid understanding of business goals and  to ensure that research findings are integrated into business decisions and strategy
• Draft actionable research documentation in multiple formats, including in Miro
• Review and copyedit survey questions and logic
• Work on innovation initiatives with internal stakeholders and research consultants. Maintain connections with multiple consultants at once
• Drive actionable results and insights from data collected for innovation initiatives
• Use critical thinking and analytical skills to create or test solutions. Go beyond data reporting to analyze the ''why'' behind insights
• Support business leaders in developing research project scopes, proposals, and estimates
• Partner with technology experts, continuously garnering feedback and market intelligence to serve as a decisioning input for innovative technology capabilities
• Provide guidance and training on research tools and techniques to encourage self-service amongst team members
• Build and leverage a solid knowledgebase of consumer and cultural trends and forces shaping the future in news, entertainment, and sports across broadcast, web, mobile, and CTV

What You Bring 
• 6+ years of experience in a mix of research, marketing, technology, strategy, and/or project management roles.
• Bachelor's degree in research or equivalent practical experience
• Ability to articulate clear requirements in both written and verbal forms
• Proven track record of thoughtful use of research and/or storytelling (surveys, focus groups, semiotics, social listening)
• The soft skills to be able to recognize when to challenge conventional thinking in an effective way while also being receptive to feedback and differing points of view
• Ability and willingness to travel occasionally for company business

The base salary compensation range for this role is $130,000 to $145,000. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, 15 paid vacation days, 2 paid personal days, 9 paid holidays, 40 hours of paid sick leave, parental leave, and employee stock purchase plan.
