Job Description
Sinclair Broadcast Group seeks a dynamic technical leader to work in a team environment to implement new business models enabled by the latest technology in broadcasting: Advanced Television Systems Committee 3.0 (ATSC 3.0). ATSC 3.0 combines new broadcast transmission technology with an Internet Protocol (IP) powered broadcast core that will unleash new business use cases and revenue streams. ATSC 3.0 allows broadcasters to become wireless providers through ''datacasting.'' In other words, using the ATSC 3.0 broadcast transmission to perform Data Distribution as a Service (DDaaS) functions for many different business use cases and potential customers. The convergence of ATSC 3.0 with the commercial Internet will transform the broadcast industry and lead to a multitude of beneficial uses in the communities that receive the ATSC 3.0 signal.

The Lead Network Integration Engineer for Sinclair's DDaaS business, which is part of our Next Generation Wireless Platform (NGWP), will play a critical role in developing the network infrastructure for this business. The Lead Network Integration Engineer will help to develop and integrate the various systems that will make up our ATSC 3.0 DDaaS network to enable reliable and predictable network delivery and operation. Integration will include components of an Operations Support System (OSS), Business Support System (BSS) and Site Managers near the broadcast location. Integration in the future could include a convergence with 5G cellular networks. In executing these tasks, one will help to design, plan and manage physical installations at broadcast stations to enable DDaaS capabilities.

The Lead Network Integration Engineer must be adept working in a multi-vendor environment with different partners to develop plans to fulfill requirements. There will be opportunities to provide technical advice for business initiatives, strategic recommendations to senior leadership and interface with a variety of business functions across the company. The Lead Network Integration Engineer will work alongside other Sinclair architects, engineers, and business development mangers, as well as multiple vendor partners to develop the end-to-end DDaaS commercial offering .

Key Responsibilities Include:
• Coordinate internally and externally to develop and implement the network operations aspects of the DDaaS business
• Advise the Chief Technology Officer, DDaaS Program Manager and Lead Technical Architect on those network integration matters impacting the planning, deployment and operations of Sinclair's ATSC 3.0 DDaaS solution.
• Ensure the successful integration of all components of the DDaaS network
• Participate in the process of selecting buy or build technology solutions
• Assist in determining Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for the ATSC 3.0 DDaaS network
• Evaluate potential NGWP technology solutions for quality, scalability, cost-effectiveness and fit with business requirements
• Ensure technological risks and security requirements are accounted for and solutions meet necessary requirements
• Translate technical design concepts to business needs and operations
• Provide perspective and thought leadership to senior management and stakeholders to communicate how systems support business capabilities from a position of functional fit, technical fit and risk.
• Ensure the effectiveness and quality of installed hardware and applications by performing post-execution reviews

Requirements:
• 5+ years working knowledge in designing, deploying, migrating and/or operating network infrastructure
• Knowledge of edge and cloud computing
• Commercial product development/deployment experience
• Wired and wireless networking technologies experience
• Experience working in wireless telecommunications is a plus
• All strong Network Integration backgrounds will be considered regardless of broadcast specific experience
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with a high level of intellectual curiosity
• Ability to solve problems creatively
• Excellent communication skills with a demonstrable history of influencing organizations, working collaboratively, and building relationships with all levels of management
• Great interpersonal skills
• A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required
