Job Description

This position will report directly to the Senior Vice President of Finance. Some of the duties will include:
• Analyze and explain actual versus budget and/or forecast variances for financial and operational information.
• Create and distribute monthly departmental reports to track performance against budget.
• Assist with creating and updating forecasts and budget.
• Partner with centralized corporate accounting during month end close to ensure timely and accurate financial results. Includes analyzing actual results and identifying accruals needed.
• Code & route department invoices for manager approval and accounts payable processing. Act as point of contact for accounts payable with centralized corporate function.
• Review monthly general ledger to ensure correct allocations/coding of expenses.
• Special projects and ad hoc analyses as required by management.
• Assist in internal, external financial audits.
• Prepare various special analyses, including event production analysis and tracking.
• Ensure GAAP compliance in financials throughout the year and create year end GAAP financials and related footnotes for external auditors.
• Ensure compliance with all tax filings through preparation and filing (i.e. sales and use, 1099, extensions, quarterly and annual filings).
• Coordinate with other teams to ensure smooth process flow and accurate reporting.
• Deal with administration items (DUNS numbers, setting up accounts and Amex cards) as necessary.

Qualifications include:
• Minimum 3 years prior work experience in finance or accounting.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize internal and external requests.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective time management skills, detail oriented, and strong analytical skills.
• Proficiency with accounting principles, Microsoft Office suite, general ledgers and accounts payable systems.
• Ability to work extended hours expected as situations arise.
• Undergraduate degree in accounting or equivalent related experience.
