Job Description

As the largest most diversified television broadcasting company in the country, we continuously look to embrace new digital opportunities and challenge ourselves to defy expectations of what a broadcaster can do. Recently, we strategically acquired 23 Regional Sports Networks (RSNs) and we are looking for team members to join us in integrating this new and important piece of our business that will expand our range of content across the country and extend our multi-platform expansion opportunities. We are looking for a strong leader to be responsible for the planning, directing, overseeing and leading of the Distribution Operations department for Sinclair's regional sports networks (RSNs). The Distribution Operations department is responsible for satellite distribution and black-out switching of live and non-live regional sporting events and sports related programming to various regions across the country. You will be expected to build the Distribution Operations Admin team, lead key initiatives, be responsible for supervising Distribution Operations Admins, and will coordinate with a 3rd party-based Distribution Operations Tech team leader to ensure smooth operation of the department as a whole.

Responsibilities:
Operations, Collaboration & Partnerships
• Oversee staff of 10 Distribution Operations Admins within the RSN Distribution Operations department, with functions including:
• Maintaining database of all receivers; creating switching schedules
• Determining IRD switching for alt channels, notifying On-Air Operations and RSNs of alt switching plans
• Handling all shipping of new receivers or swap outs to MVPDs
• Deliver switching schedules to 3rd party Distribution Operations Technology team and coordinate with Distribution Operations Director counterpart to seamless execution

Performance Improvement
• Minimize switching incidents through high-touch coordination and communication
• Evaluate, review and assess the success of initiatives, allocation of employees, and resources
• Review performance data that includes financial and activity reports and spreadsheets to monitor and measure departmental productivity, goal achievement, and overall effectiveness

People Management & Development
• Build and develop high-performing, engaged teams as part of the next generation of digital and innovative entertainment
• Inspire a culture of continuous learning and adoption of digital and emerging technologies

Qualifications:
• 10+ years of relevant industry work experience
• 6+ years management experience
• Network Management Control Admin or Technician, Master Control experience, Engineering or Cable Headend technical experience is strongly preferred
• Experience managing 3rd party service provider relationships preferred
• Experience with live sports integration required
