Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing seeks a creative & high-energy Publicist to create and execute publicity campaigns for a wide variety of children's and YA releases.

Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement title-specific publicity campaigns for picture books, middle grade and young adult novels, as well as license/brand programs.
• Write press materials and pitch/secure media coverage (broadcast, print, online), including cover reveals & book announcements, feature interviews, reviews & round-ups in national and local media
• Plan and execute author appearances including multi-city book tours, virtual appearances, local appearances, school visits, and special events
• Research and develop relationships with media outlets
• Arrange travel for authors/illustrators and create tour schedules
• Travel selectively with authors for book tours and festivals/conferences
• Present campaign plans and results in internal sales meetings

Preferred Qualifications:
• 2+ years in children's publicity/publishing
• Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication and presentation skills
• Experience creating and executing highly successful title-based media campaigns
• Demonstrated booking and author tour management skills
• Established network of broadcast, print and digital contacts
• Must have good time management skills, be organized and detail-oriented, and capable of multi-tasking
• Ability to work independently as well as in group settings, and demonstrate good follow-up and follow-through
• Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple projects and work flexibly and quickly
