The National Accounts Manager position within the Special Markets department will work with the Special Markets Director to reach and exceed yearly sales goals. She/He/They will achieve this by working closely with accounts in the territory to secure placement opportunities for wholly-owned and client publisher titles. The sales person will create sales presentations for existing accounts on a seasonal/regular basis and will prospect and open new accounts and find new business opportunities within the existing account base. The position will also include monitoring account and industry trends to identify opportunities for frontlist and backlist sales. This person will negotiate the best deals on the publishers' behalf, will work closely with the S&S warehouse to avoid chargebacks, and will communicate regularly with sales management, supply chain, and publishers and distribution clients regarding highlights, successes and challenges, placement opportunities, inventory and estimates, and meeting/title updates.

Must have strong communication skills, both oral & written

Must be highly organized;

Must have working knowledge of Microsoft office and strong experience with Excel, including sales analysis

Three to five years experience in Special Markets and book publishing is preferred.
