Associate Editor, New Latinx Imprint

Job Description

This is a new imprint at Atria Books / Simon & Schuster focused on celebrating culture, breaking out new voices, and supporting personal development for Latine people around the word .

The Associate Editor will be charged with discovering and acquiring exciting new voices and new genres for this new imprint. The Associate Editor will also manage daily editorial activities, including reading and providing input on proposals and manuscripts, drafting catalog and flap copy, participating in the development of new book ideas, and researching sales. In addition to providing day-to-day administrative support including meeting coordination and calendar management, the Associate Editor will liaise with authors, agents, and different departments across Simon & Schuster including production, art, marketing and publicity to support the editorial process. The Associate Editor will coordinate editorial/production schedules to ensure all deadlines are met.

Must be fluent in both Spanish and English and able to work in the office a few days a week.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The annual salary for this position is $62,000.00 - $66,000.00

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
