Simon & Schuster Books is looking for an Assistant Editor with an interest in nonfiction and at least two years' experience in editorial, though other publishing experience is valued and will be considered. The responsibilities include reviewing manuscripts (previous editing experience highly preferable); helping to scout for potential authors of nonfiction; general administrative duties; working with senior or executive editor on structural and line edits; organizing and scheduling meetings; communicating with authors and agents, by phone and e-mail.
Must be reliable, agile, and an avid reader, must be able to work independently, confidentially and professionally with a group of dedicated people.

The annual salary for this position is $54,000.00 - $54,000.00
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
