Job Description

Sesame Workshop is seeking a passionate and committed Project Coordinator, Humanitarian Programs. His/her work will focus on Sesame Workshop's humanitarian initiatives, supporting programming for children and caregivers in the Middle East (Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria) and Bangladesh. The position is based in New York, NY. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for supporting program planning and management for an outstanding, large-scale early childhood development program that leverages the power of play-based learning to achieve measurable outcomes for children.

The right candidate will be highly organized, responsible, and passionate about Sesame Workshop's mission with relevant experience coordinating tasks among large, distributed teams.

Please note: This role is located in NYC once the pandemic has ended. Remote until then.

Responsibilities Include:

Process management:
• Draft, update and organize program assets, including planning decks, fact sheets, budgets, contact sheets, contracts, internal and external reports, and project plans
• Coordinate project management activities, including scheduling, development of project documentation, and other administrative duties
• Assist with preparation and tracking of annual project budget, across project disciplines and partners
• Support MEL Director in the management of monitoring databases
• Submit and track necessary documents through approval processes, such as legal contracts

Project Coordination:
• Develop and manage timelines, workflows, and work plans, assign and track progress on tasks to internal teams
• Track and disseminate project scope and changes
• Manage internal project communication on specified tasks; support external communication on the same

Communication
• Support the drafting of presentations, planning decks, fact sheets, internal and external reports, concept notes, project plans, executive briefings
• Draft and design monthly reports, power-points, and project materials for external communications purposes

Qualifications

Required
• 2+ years of experience as a project coordinator or similar role related to international development, education, mass media, and/or humanitarian response
• Bachelor's degree in Development, Education, Communications, Business, or equivalent.
• Strong communication and relationship management skills
• Experience creating and using organizational tools like Gantt charts and project management software/online tools
• Excellent organizational skills, including keen attention to detail and the ability to manage time effectively, track and follow-up on various tasks, and multi-task
• Excellent computer skills, including MS Office, file transfer and sharing technology, and web-based communication and call tools
• Ability to develop clear and compelling PowerPoint presentations
• Ability to work effectively in multi-cultural settings

Desirable
• Experience in broadcasting and/or media production
• Experience working in humanitarian or international development settings (experience in Syria response region or Rohingya response region a plus)
• Experience with or interest in working with multidisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with InDesign and/or Adobe Illustrator
• Knowledge of one or more foreign languages
