Job Description

The E.W. Scripps Company and Scripps Sports is seeking a Studio Host to be the face of Scripps Sports programming. Lead engaging discussions, provide insightful analysis, and deliver high-quality content to our audience.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
• Lead live studio broadcasts, including pre-game shows, halftime reports, post-game analysis, and special segments.
• Facilitate discussions with analysts, guest commentators, and other sports personalities, ensuring conversations are engaging, informative, and balanced.
• Provide insightful commentary and analysis on events, teams, and athletes.
• Research and gather up-to-date information on teams, players, league standings, recent games, and upcoming matches.
• Prepare talking points, questions, and discussion topics for interviews and panel discussions.
• Stay informed about major news, trades, injuries, and other relevant events.
• Collaborate with producers, writers, and the editorial team to develop compelling content and segment ideas.
• Ensure all content meets the high standards of Scripps Sports, maintaining journalistic integrity and accuracy.
• Conduct in-depth interviews with athletes, coaches, and other key figures in the sports industry, both in-studio and remotely.
• Prepare questions and conduct research to ensure interviews are insightful and informative.
• Engage with viewers through social media, live chats, and other interactive platforms, providing additional insights and answering questions.
• Promote upcoming broadcasts and segments through various channels, building a strong connection with the audience.
• Occasionally participate in live coverage of major sports events, providing on-the-ground reports and analysis as needed.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
• BS/BA in related discipline or equivalent years of experience preferred
• Generally, 5+ years of experience in related field preferred
• Experience with social media engagement and audience interaction.
