Sr. Front-End developer (ROKU)

The E.W. Scripps Company is seeking a Sr. Front End Developer to join our corporate team. This position ensures high-quality user interaction with all web and consumer-facing applications including mobile and OTT. Responsibilities include evaluating requirements, prototyping solutions, adhering to and creating the design system for mobile and OTT, as well as developing features for the websites. Serves a key role in the planning, prototyping, development, launch, and maintenance of websites and applications.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
• Work independently and closely with other designers, developers, product and ops teams in a collaborative manner to plan, design, and develop websites and consumer-facing applications
• Evaluate, recommend, and contribute to application concepts and designs, layout, user interface, usability and accessibility, and the overall user experience through the entire software development lifecycle including requirements gathering/analysis, design system, development, release/version control, testing, deployment, and support
• Identify, analyze, and resolve problems relating to the design system, speed, security, and scalability that may occur with multiple platforms at a large scale
• Show influence on the long-range goals of the team and provide mentorship for more junior team members to help them grow in their technical and design responsibilities
• Recommend, design, build and release features and improvements (including integrating data from various back-end services) with minimal guidance and support from other team members
• Participate in after-hours support duties as needed
• Follow strict troubleshooting processes at all times, especially during emergencies
• Perform other duties as needed and directed by the supervisor

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of experience in software development with experience managing web-based applications
• 7+ years technical experience in interactive media or other relevant online business
• 2+ years experience working with Roku

• Git or other version control for code, asset and configuration management.
• Web page speed (Google Lighthouse or similar)
