Sports Analyst (Remote)

The E.W. Scripps Company and Scripps Sports is seeking a Sports Analyst to provide expert commentary and analysis on sports events, teams, and athletes, both in studio and during live broadcasts and have a deep understanding of sports, strong analytical skills, and the ability to present complex information in an engaging and accessible manner. This role is also responsible for providing a live, detailed, and engaging commentary for television, radio, or online audiences.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
• Provide in-depth analysis and commentary on sports games, tournaments, and championships.
• Narrate key plays, strategies, and momentum shifts.
• Break down player performance, team strategies, and game dynamics in an understandable and engaging way for the audience. Offer pre-game, in-game, and post-game analysis, highlighting key moments and critical factors influencing the outcomes.
• Collaborate with producers, hosts, and other analysts to develop segment ideas and storylines and ensure a cohesive and polished broadcast.
• Conduct research and prepare detailed reports on teams, players, and upcoming games to inform your analysis.
• Engage with viewers through social media and other interactive platforms, providing insights and answering questions.
• Participate in live chats, Q&A sessions, and other viewer engagement activities to build a strong connection with the audience.
• Appear on various network programs, including pre-game shows, halftime reports, and post-game analysis segments.
• Participate in special features, documentaries, and other sports-related programming as needed.
• Continuously stay updated on sports news, trends, and developments to provide relevant and current analysis.
• Leverage advanced statistics, analytics, and other tools to enhance analysis and provide deeper insights.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
• BS/BA in related discipline or equivalent years of experience preferred
• Generally, 5+ years of experience in related field preferred
• Experience with advanced sports analytics and statistical analysis

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
• Exceptional knowledge of sports, including current events, historical context, and key players.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and public speaking abilities.
• Proficiency with broadcasting equipment and production software.
• Preferred Skills
• Multilingual abilities, particularly in languages relevant to the sports covered by our network.
• Familiarity with video editing and production processes.
